In order to address the continued detention of the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore by the DSS, a Twitter user, Yemi Fash has stated that the Federal Government has been trying to negotiate with Sowore to call off the revolution campaign but he rejected it.
He compared him to popular singer Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface for raising the hope of people for a revolution but cancelled it at the last minute.
Recall that in 2015, Tuface called for a nationwide protest over the bad governance, insecurity and incompetence that plagued the country but called it off few hours to the protest.
He wrote…
I learnt FG has been trying to “negotiate for peace” in return for Sowore’s freedom, they want him to retract the revolution campaign but he rejected saying he would not take part in any arrangement that will infringe on his fundamental human right. Sowore is a man, unlike Tuface.
Tuface called for a nationwide protest against what he claimed as the worst economic crisis in the country which saw the costs of goods and services skyrocketing, with many families struggling to survive. We all supported and was ready only for him to chicken out last minute. 👎
This is not intended to throw shades at the legend, but we can’t but have this particular conversation when the need arises. I believe the two of them, Sowore and Tuface were not forced to take the decision to lead those protests. One stood on his feet, one chickened out.
