A 49-year-old pastor identified as George has defiled a 5-year-old girl in Umuguma, Owerri in Imo State on Tuesday.
The pastor who has shared his wedding invitation card to the family of the girl is a well-known face in the neighbourhood.
According to the victim’s mother, she came back and met her child disturbed and moody, her instinct told her she has been harmed.
Her first action was to open her skirt and check. She saw a blood-stained pant and after persuasion and given her daughter a treat, she opened up and told her mother how she went to search for her playmate whom she didn’t see and decided to play on the sand.
As she was playing, the pastor asked her to follow him to his house where he made her lie down on the tiled toilet and defiled her. He also threatened to kill her and take her away from her mother if she says anything to her.
The woman couldn’t believe her ears and told a few women in her confusion but they advised her not to incite trouble as the pastor is an anointed man of God.
It was kept hidden until the whispers got to the mother’s brother on Monday night and they marched to the Church building of the Pastor.
When he was asked, he denied knowing the little girl but later accepted but pointed accusing fingers at his plumber.
Meanwhile, the little girl repeatedly made eye contact with the pastor when asked “who did this to you” and go on to narrate the heart-wrenching incident when taken out of George’s sight.
The Pastor has been arrested while the poor girl is receiving treatment in a hospital. She was still spotting around 4 pm today before admission.
The Pastor is supposed to be getting married on the 12th of December, 2020.
