The Newly Elected Executive Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, Hon. Humphrey Benson has pledged to make the welfare of workers in the council top priority.
Speaking to newsmen at the reception organised in his honour at Sacromento Event Resorts Federal Housing Estate Amakama off Isi-court Olokoro, Umuahia South, Hon. Benson also encouraged his people of Umuahia south Council to prepare for the better days ahead as his footprint will remain indelible on the sands of time.
He thanked God for his victory at the just concluded local government elections as well promise not to betray the confidence repose on him by his people.
Hon. Benson called for support from the people of Umuahia South, assuring that he will not slip from his campaign promises.
The newly elected executive chairman of umuahia South Mr Humphrey Benson who enumerated his agenda in the next two years also thanked the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, party stakeholders as well as the good people of Umuahia South for electing him.
The Commissioner for Science and Technology, Barr. Chijioke Paul Madumere, former Commissioner for Public Utility, Hon. Tony Ezebuiro and Barr Nnachebe Uhara had also during an interview with our correspondent congratulated the newly elected executive chairman Umuahia South LGA Mr Humphrey Benson on his successfully swearing-by the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
They reminded Hon. Benson that the task before him is enormous and urged him to reflect on the achievements of his predecessors as well as develop pa possible way to enhance the economic fortune of the council.
- Earlier in their remarks, the Immediate past TC chairman Umuahia South LGA Dr Ndukwe Adindu, Immediate and past Executive Board Chairman ASUBEB Mr Kenechukwu Nwosu described the election of Hon. Benson as a new dawn in umuahia South and expressed the hope that he will use his wealth of experience to enhance the economic development of the council.
Meanwhile, the New Executive Chairman Umuahia South LGA Mr Humphrey Benson alongside his deputy had earlier received the deal of oath from the immediate past TC Chairman Umuahia South Dr Ndukwe Adindu.
The ceremony which had in attendance important personalities in the council also saw the executive chairman present a Sienna Car to his personal Assistant Mr Nwosu Kelechi.
