Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, the aide to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, has been released by the Department of Secret Service.
According to the report, he was released on Monday evening in Abuja after being in DSS custody for several days.
Yakasai was arrested while on his way to the barber’s shop and was transported to Abuja.
The DSS initially denied holding him hostage but later accepted and revealed that he was held for investigation beyond expressing an opinion.
Yakasai has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over the incessant abduction of school children and the heightened insecurity in the country.
