To bring peace to the region, the Anambra State Government has declared a curfew in some communities in the State.
The communities affected include, Igbariam, Aguleri, Umueri, Nteje, Awkuzu and Umunya.
Recall that on Monday, 26th April 2021, there was unrest in the Igbariam community of Awkuzu following the killing of a Fulani family in the community.
Governor Wilberforce Obiano condemned the attack while commiserating with the grieving family in Aguleri.
The curfew will start from 7 pm to 6 am daily until further notice.
He said the curfew which was ordered in some communities was a means of curtailing the security challenges in those areas in particular and the state at large.
He also appealed to them to comply with the curfew directive, to be calm and go about their businesses without fear, assuring that the criminals will be brought to justice.
