President of Port Harcourt Polo Club, Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa has announced a partnership and sponsorship deal with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
Dimkpa, who made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, said the deal was for the 2022 Port Harcourt Polo Tournament and the club’ s 50th anniversary.
He said the deal would allow the club do deliver the biggest and best polo tournament that would place Rivers state and Nigeria on the map of global reckoning in sports, tourism and business.
“We are pleased to announce the official sponsorship and partnership participation deal offered by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
“The offered deal we have attracted, which is in total value of over fifteen million naira, will cover critical items,” he said.
According to Dimkpa, the deal covers Dubai-branded polo team jerseys, an all expense paid trip to Dubai for winners of a selected Cup at the Tournament and Club executives.
“They will receive round trip ticket from Lagos or Abuja, including five nights accommodation, breakfast, visa, airport transfer in Dubai, and tickets to a Dubai Polo Tournament in March 2022.
“In addition, three lucky winners during a raffle draw at the tournament will win roundtrip tickets from Lagos or Abuja, five nights accommodation, breakfasts, visa, and airport transfer in Dubai,” he added.
According to him, the 2022 Port Harcourt polo tournament would enhance unity and promote equestrian sports, healthy lifestyle and peaceful coexistence.
“We believe this as an opportunity for industries and corporate entities to showcase their businesses, products and services to promote patronage and massively enhance the economic growth and investment potentials in Rivers and Nigeria,” the President said.
Dimkpa appreciated Dubai department of economy and tourism for the partnership.
