Gunmen Attack Taraba Governor’s Family as Police Accidentally Shoot Sister
The mother of Taraba State Governor Jumai Kefas and his sister Atsi Kefas were attacked by gunmen believed to be bandits along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area.
The mother of Taraba State Governor Jumai Kefas and his sister Atsi Kefas were attacked by gunmen believed to be bandits along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the mother and sister, who were accompanied by a police escort, were attacked on Thursday while they were travelling around the area.
The Police escort had accidentally shot Atsi Kefas while trying to fend off the assailants. The troops swiftly responded and evacuated the victims using an air ambulance.


Atsi was injured and treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being flown to Abuja for further medical care.
The police are investigating the attackers’ identities, but no arrests have been made.
