Police Neutralize Bandits, Arrest Suspects, and Rescue Fourteen Children
On January 18, 2025, the Nigeria Police neutralized a bandit and arrested four others following intelligence about a group of armed bandits holding a strategic meeting for a possible attack in a forest in Budon, Kogi State.

According to Police Spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, when the police operatives arrived, the bandits engaged them in a fierce gunfight. Fortunately, the police overpowered the bandits, resulting in one bandit being neutralized and four others arrested. The operatives also recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 30 rounds of live ammunition, and two motorcycles.
On the same day, a distress call was received at the Dutsinma Divisional Police Headquarters in Katsina State, reporting that armed bandits were heading to attack Ruwan Doruwa Village in the Dutsinma Local Government Area.




In response to this call, police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, mobilized, intercepted the armed bandits, and engaged them in a fierce gun battle. This confrontation led to the neutralization of seven bandits, while the remainder of the gang fled, abandoning 109 livestock believed to be stolen.
In a separate operation, the Ondo State Police Command apprehended a syndicate involved in child abduction and trafficking after receiving intelligence about a missing child at Okuta Elerin-Nla in Akure. The arrested suspects, identified as Abosede Olanipekun (female), Lukman Isiaka (male), and Sabira Izuorah (female), were found to be responsible for the abduction of 14 children aged between one week and seven years.
