NAFDAC Seals Warehouses in Aba for Relabeling Expired Drugs
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed two warehouses located at No. 269, Sam Mbakwe Road (formerly Faulk’s Road), Aba, and another at Umumeje, Umuocheala, Osisioma Local Government Area, Abia State.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed two warehouses located at No. 269, Sam Mbakwe Road (formerly Faulk’s Road), Aba, and another at Umumeje, Umuocheala, Osisioma Local Government Area, Abia State.

According to a statement from the Agency on its official platform, the warehouse on Sam Mbakwe Road was found to be stocked with expired drugs, while the Umuocheala warehouse contained 140 tonnes of expired drugs which were evacuated, not including products that were seized from drug shops at Ariaria International Market.




During the raid, it was discovered that some suspects had removed cartons of expired drugs that had been relabeled before security reinforcements arrived.
The Agency revealed that a total of 178 drug samples were collected during the operation and will undergo laboratory analysis.
