Adeleke Denies Defection Rumours, Affirms Loyalty to PDP
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has firmly denied widespread rumours suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing them as baseless and misleading.

In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Adeleke assured residents of Osun State and Nigerians nationwide that he remains a committed and loyal member of the PDP.
“Over the last few hours, I have been inundated with calls regarding rumours of a possible defection. I want to assure the good people of Osun State and Nigerians at large; I remain a loyal member, and the leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State,” he said.
Governor Adeleke urged the public to disregard the circulating reports, labelling them as “fake news.” He emphasised that his primary focus remains the successful implementation of his administration’s five-point development agenda aimed at improving the lives of Osun residents.
“Please disregard the fake news and continue to support our mission for a better Osun State,” the governor concluded.
The clarification comes amid growing political alignment and the adoption of the African Democratic Congress ADC as the vehicle for the opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
