Innoson CEO Visits Bayelsa, Plans Manufacturing Plant and CNG Conversion Station
The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma, on Monday paid a strategic visit to Bayelsa State as part of efforts to establish a vehicle manufacturing plant in the state.
Chief Chukwuma was received in Yenagoa by Duoye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, who expressed enthusiasm about the planned investment and its potential impact on the state’s economy.
Governor Diri revealed that discussions during the visit also included plans to set up a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion station in Bayelsa, an initiative he described as timely and critical to energy transition efforts.
“I am particularly touched by his call for partnership in establishing a CNG conversion station in our dear state,” the governor stated, adding that his administration has laid the groundwork for such investments through sustained infrastructure development over the past five years.
The governor highlighted ongoing projects such as the gas turbines project aimed at ensuring a steady electricity supply and supporting industrial growth.
Diri further assured potential investors of Bayelsa’s safety and readiness, stating: “It is great to cheer that Bayelsa remains one of the safest states in the country following our huge investments in technology to boost security. The implication of this is that the investment of Innoson is safe in Bayelsa.”
He commended Chief Chukwuma for choosing Bayelsa, describing the visit as a welcome development under the “Government of Assured Prosperity.”
“In the name of the Government of Assured Prosperity and the good people of Bayelsa State, I appreciate our industrialist, Chief Chukwuma, for this strategic business visit to the ‘Glory of all Lands,’” Governor Diri concluded.
