Following the call for proper management of wastes in Aba, the government of Abia State have assured Aba citizens of clearing the refuse in the city within 48 hours.
A release endorsed by the State Commissioner for Information, Barrister Eze Chikamnayo appealed to Aba residents to exercise patience and cooperate with the government officials who will perform the task.
“THIS IS TO INFORM ALL ABA RESIDENTS THAT GOVERNMENT IS DETERMINED TO CLEAR THE REFUSE IN ABA WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
TO THIS END, RESIDENTS OF ABA ARE ENJOINED TO EXERCISE PATIENCE AND CO_ OPERATE WITH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS SADDLED WITH THIS ONEROUS TASK.
GOVERNOR OKEZIE VICTOR IKPEAZU IS POISED TO TRANSFORM ABA THROUGH STEADY AND CERTAIN IMPLEMENTATION OF PEOPLE ORIENTED POLICIES.
THEREFORE, ALL PATRIOTIC ABIANS MUST JOIN HANDS WITH HIM IN HIS DETERMINATION TO CREATE A BETTER LIFE FOR OUR PEOPLE.”
On Thursday, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu ordered the immediate removal from office the Deputy General Manager of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) Chief Rowland Nwakanma and All the Local Government Waste Management zonal heads in Aba except Ikot Elpene road, Aba Owerri road and express.
