The National Assembly has approved the appointment of Professor Tunji Olaopa, as the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission on Tuesday.
Other members approved include; DR. Dauda Jalo, Edet Eyoma, Chamberlain Nwele, Rufus Godwins, DR. Adamu Hussein, Aminu Nabegu, Hindatu Abdullahi, Shehu Aliyu, Odekunle Rukiyat, Princess Sarah Adebisi, and DR Festus Oyebade.
On October 27, 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed the members of the FCSC and forwarded their names to the Senate for approval.
In a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity charged the commission to ‘competently facilitate the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the Federal Bureaucracy to enable, and not stifle, growth and enhanced private sector participation in the development of the Nigerian economy, in full adherence to the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.’
The new FCSC leadership is expected to commence work with effect from November 30, 2023, following the expiration of the tenure of the current Federal Civil Service Commission Chairman and membership on November 29, 2023.
