Ikpeazu Assures Commitment Towards Completing Ongoing Projects in Bende

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that he is determined to complete all ongoing projects sited in Bende LGA by his administration.

Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance when he received in audience PDP Stakeholders from Bende LGA at Government House Umuahia.

He noted that the Item Water Scheme has been completed and would be ready for use soon and assured that the Ozuitem Water Scheme among others will soon be completed also.

To that effect, he directed the three Commissioners of Bende origin led by the Commissioner for Basic Education, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma to immediately access the Ozuitem Water Scheme ,the bridge and any other outstanding project started by his Government in Bende LGA and report back to him Wednesday next week with a view to recommencing work on the projects.

The Governor also directed the three Commissioners to submit proposals on the most pressing needs in their areas for immediate attention, as he is desirous to site a few other projects in the area before the end of his tenure.

The Governor implored Bende people to assist in the fight to reposition Abia State as no one Local Government or Zone can produce the Governor in 2023 in isolation, assuring that he will not have anything to do with any candidate who prioritizes clannish considerations.

Governor Ikpeazu said his greatest achievement in office is the Unity, Peace and Sociopolitical stability in the State, , stressing that the discussion on who succeeds him must start and end on the table.

He thanked Ndi Bende for their frank observations and described the LGA as strategic and important in terms of modern politics, trade and commerce.
He also used the opportunity to thank Bende sons who are part of his administration in different areas for being good ambassadors of their people.

Earlier, some Stakeholders in the delegation including the Chairman Bende LGA Chief Emmanuel Onwuchekwa, Chief P.C Mba, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, the Member representing Bende South State Constituency, Hon. Chief Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Rt. Hon Cosmos Ndukwe and two Royal Fathers, ,Eze John Akaliro and Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu among others appreciated the Governor on his achievements in office and assured him that Bende people are solidly behind him.

They appealed to the Governor to complete ongoing projects started by his administration in the area including the Ozuitem Water Scheme and prayed that God will guide him to take the best decision for the state as we enter the era of succession politics.
