‘I’m Open To Learning More About Who I Am,’ Singer Janelle Monae Says As She Comes Out As Pansexual

American singer, Janelle Monae, who is known for being private about her personal life, is being more open.

The singer in a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine opened up about her sexuality for the first time “Being a queer black woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women – I consider myself to be a free-ass motherfucker,” she told the magazine.

The 32-year-old singer and actress clarified that she initially identified as bisexual, “but then later I read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too.’ I’m open to learning more about who I am.”

To be pansexual means that one is not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity. This means a pansexual person can have sex with a man, woman, transgender… as long as the person is a human being.
