The Department of Secret Service has allegedly abducted a journalist Ayoola Babalola for writing articles criticizing the President Muhammadu Buhari.
He was abducted on Friday evening and has been remanded at the Ibara maximum prison in Abeokuta.
This was reported by his colleagues who shared the articles he wrote which was the reason why he was abducted.
He wrote, “Late Yesterday, the DSS abducted Journalist Ayoola Babalola for writing articles criticizing @MBuhari. He has been remanded at the Ibara maximum prison Abeokuta. It’s so unfortunate that we will have to create another hashtag #FreeBabalola.”
He further asked how long-press freedom will be denied Nigerians under the president and if the fundamental human rights toll exist in this regime?
“For how long will this continue? Attached are some of the articles he wrote that warranted his abduction and remand. When shall there be press freedom under @MBuhari regime? How many more hashtags shall we create for expressing our views? Does fundamental human right exist under this regime?
#FreeBabalola”
