The management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has stated that the delay experienced in the monthly allowance is due to the administration of funds by various banks who are yet to credit Corps Members’ accounts.
Speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the NYSC, Eddy Megwa on Sunday revealed that Scheme completed all arrangements for the payment of Corps Members’ allowance since the 27th of June, 2023, and remittances made the same day to various banks accordingly.
While acknowledging the delay in payment advised banks to fast-track the payment of the corps members’ June allowance.

“In line with the above, NYSC Management is assiduously interfacing with the banks to fast track the payment of Corps Members’ June allowance without further delay.”
The statement also called on corps members to remain calm despite their worries and agitation as the scheme will continue to treat issues concerning corps members accordingly.
“All Corps Members are enjoined to remain calm, law-abiding, and dutiful in their respective places of national service as the Scheme will continue to treat issues relating to their welfare with utmost priority. Thank you.”
Some corps members who were affected by the delay in monthly payment commended the scheme for addressing the issue but stated that if nothing is done by Monday, they will be unable to go to their respective Places of Primary Assignment.
