Enugu Govt Denies Ongoing Recruitment Exercise, Warns Against Scams

The Enugu State Government has cautioned the public to be vigilant against recruitment scams and denied rumours regarding ongoing recruitment exercises within the state.

In a statement released by Mr Robinson Odo, the Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, on Wednesday in Enugu, he emphasized that there are currently no recruitment processes taking place. He urged the public to disregard information circulating on social media that invites prospective applicants to apply for non-existent positions.

“Please ignore the news on social media claiming that the state civil service commission is currently recruiting. Those encouraging applicants to apply through specific websites are unscrupulous agents and fraudsters,” he stated.

The statement further advised the public to verify information through official channels to avoid falling victim to scams.

The government also warned that any individuals or groups found engaging in recruitment scams will face legal consequences. They stated that previous recruitment efforts carried out by the government were conducted through established, legitimate channels.

“This government has successfully facilitated thousands of employments through verifiable methods. These processes were traceable, transparent, and accountable, in line with the governing philosophy of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration. Any job openings will be communicated to the public through appropriate channels,” the statement added.

The government assured citizens of its commitment to prioritizing transparency and accountability in all operations and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
