Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central District, has submitted an affidavit as supporting evidence for her sexual harassment petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Senate Ethics Committee.
In the sworn affidavit, Senator Natasha disclosed that on or about December 8, 2024, while he was attempting to show her his house in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the former Governor made inappropriate sexual advances toward her.
She stated that when she rejected his advances, Senator Akpabio initiated a systematic campaign of intimidation and obstruction regarding her duties in the Senate. This included deliberately refusing to recognize her motion on the revitalization of the Ajaokuta Steel Company, a matter of national economic significance.

Senator Natasha mentioned that when she reluctantly approached Senator Akpabio in his office about his refusal to grant her motion, he reiterated that she could “enjoy more in the Senate if she made him happy.”
Drawing a parallel to the case of former Director General of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, and her interactions with Senator Akpabio, Senator Natasha expressed her belief that her refusal of his advances is directly related to the obstruction she is facing regarding her legislative motion.
Addressing the media scrutiny against her, she asserted her right to provide additional evidence to support her case in the petition.
