The officials of Ramsey County jail in St. Paul, MN, are keeping a watch on ex-police officer, Derek Chauvin who murdered late George Floyd by kneeling on his neck last Monday.
Sources have revealed that the ex-police officer is being checked every 15 minutes by officers and has a camera in his cell that’s watching him 24/7.
Police officials want to ensure that nothing happens to him while in custody. Chauvin is in his cell 23 hours a day with one hour of rec time in an enclosed area.
Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter for killing George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes.
Also, Derek’s wife has filed for divorce from him after he was arrested for murder.
“She is devastated by Mr Floyd’s death. Her utmost sympathy lies with his family, his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving,” a statement on behalf of Kellie read.
It was also revealed that Derek Chauvin and George Floyd were once colleagues at El Nuevo Rodeo on Lake Street as bouncers and knew each other for a very long time.
According to a medical examiner from Hennepin county started that the autopsy shows he didn’t die from strangulation but from being restrained and his underlying medical conditions.
He said, “the combined effect of Mr Floyd by restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to the death.”
Chauvin is being charged with 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter. There were two other crooked cops kneeling on his back and legs who are under investigation as well as a fourth cop who was on the scene.
