The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Malam Mele Kyari, has directed all parties concerned to refrain from issuing congratulatory messages on his reappointment.

He made this known in a Press Release on Wednesday made available by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., Olufemi O. Soneye in Abuja emphasizing the necessity for all stakeholders’ commitment to drive revenue growth and fortify resilience for the naira and the economy.
Expressing gratitude to Stakeholders and Nigerians for their enthusiasm regarding his reappointment by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he stated that it is a renewed challenge and asserted that he is committed to stabilizing the oil industry and enhancing service delivery for increased revenue.
Mr Kyari appealed to stakeholders in the oil sector and fellow Nigerians to support the company under his leadership to ensure the success of its mandate.

Mr Kyari who served for four years under Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and his new team are expected to kick off operation on the 1st of December 2023.
Meanwhile, an oil and gas expert and Managing Partner, at BBH Consulting, Barr. Ameh Madaki while speaking to Daily Post revealed that the reappointment of Mr Kyari is a gross disservice to Nigerians following the rot in the oil industry.
“It is shocking to me. He does not know what is happening in the oil and gas industry, or he doesn’t care! For the level of mismanagement of the industry under Mele Kyari, it is a gross disservice to this country to retain him and most of the Board members and thereby pass a vote of confidence in the gross mismanagement of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry over the years”, he said.
