The 14 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA) Ohafia has joined her counterparts across the country to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebrations 2020 (NADCEL 20) in the 3 senatorial zones of Abia State.
As part of her Corporate Social Responsibility, the Brigade and her personnel organised sanitation activities across the State today, 4 July 2020 from 6 – 10 am.
The sanitation was conducted at Ebem in Ohafia, Oando Market in Ovim, Main Park general area in Aba and Isi Gate in Umuahia.
The event is one of the several activities lined up for the NADCEL 20. The actions of the soldiers were widely applauded as it attracted the attention of the locals who gathered to appreciate them.
The Nigeria Army Day is an annual event slated for 6 July in honour of late and serving members of the Nigeria Army, NADCEL to mark the history of the Nigeria Army. For this year, the NADCEL 20 celebrates 157 years of Nigeria Army with activities lined up to commemorates the weeklong event from Wednesday 1st
Monday 6th July 2020.
Activities lined up include Operationalization of Special Army Super Camp Faskari, COAS Press Conference, COAS Media Engagement, Airing of NA Movies titled ‘Operation Last Dance’, Commissioning of Civil-Military Cooperation Projects at selected locations across the country, Distributions of Palliative to vulnerable Nigerians at Nigeria Army Divisions, Brigades and Units.
The location chosen for the Celebration is Faskari in Katsina State and it is expected to end on a high note with the flag off of Exercise SAHEL SANITY.
The people of the State expressed their gratitude and thanked the military for showing concern by choosing to clean and wear the state a new look through their clean up exercise.
