Following the award of “Distinguished Friend of the Media” with which the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, was honoured by the national body of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Sheraton Hotels and Towers last Thursday, the State Assembly has congratulated the Speaker whom they described as truly “media-friendly” and therefore deserving of the Honour.
Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has assured of the readiness of the State Government to partner with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to facilitate easy flow of petroleum products from Abia State to other parts of the Southeastern region of the country. The Governor made this known during a stakeholders meeting held between the state government and the top management team of the NNPC.

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has said that his support for Trade & Commerce, Agriculture SME and Education right from the inception of his administration in 2015 was borne out of his knowledge that Nigeria would some day be faced with the present economic quagmire due to its mono-economic status.
Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has awarded 5 years full scholarship to Mr Solomon Ukoha who constructed an electricity substation with crude oil and other locally sourced materials. The scholarship is for him to further his education in any tertiary institution of his choice.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has signed into Law, the Abia State Water Bill 2021 which was recently passed by the State House of Assembly and also launched the Abia State Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Policy (WASH). The Governor also declared a state of emergency on the WASH sector in the State.
