The Governor of Imo, Kebbi, Jigawa states, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Mohammed Badaru Abubakar have respectively sued for peace among Christian and has asked Christians and Muslims living in the south East.
Speaking during a meeting involving Christians and Muslims in the South East held at Government House, Owerri, yesterday. Governor Hope Uzodimma called on the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslims, herdsmen and farmers to always embrace peace with tolerance, adding that peace and mutual love are the only instruments that can keep them together.
The governor maintained that his government was geared towards maintaining total security of life and property of citizens, as he thanked all for attending the meeting.
Governors of Kebbi and Jigawa States who were at the meeting, respectively appreciated the Imo governor for convening the meeting, while acknowledging that all Nigerians have the right to live peacefully in any part of the country.
The President of Ohanaeze Ndi- Igbo, Prof George Obiozor, said that one-sided peace is dangerous. He added peace is mutual and must be reciprocal.
