Actress Tonto Dike and Mercy Aigbe have taken to their social media to celebrate themselves for playing the dual role of father and mother to their children.
The actresses did this on the occasion of this year’s father’s day stating that playing the dual roles is not easy and so, they should be appreciated for the effort.
Tonto Dike, in her post further advised women that forgiveness does not require connection and so should create space if the father decides to play a role in the life of the child.
Tonto wrote;

Please no one should come and tell me how I shouldn’t take the shine off Fathers oh! (Fatherhood is beyond just impregnating a woman, if you are a man and do not perform your responsibilities towards your kids, Biko you ain’t fit to be called a Father and that’s on Period!!!!)… So, Since I am playing the dual role in my children’s lives, allow me celebrate myself everyday! Recall that Tonto Dike was married to businessman Olakunle Churchill whom she accused of ‘marrying’ as she gave him the money which he paid for her bride price. Both ended their marriage in a very bitter way.
Mercy Aigbe, on the other hand, was married to businessman Lanre Gentry who domestically and physically abused her until she called off the marriage. Efforts by her estranged husband to get her back proved abortive.
