Just hours after sacking the heads of the Aviation and Aerospace Development agencies, the federal government asked all directors to hand over the baton of leadership to the next in command in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This was made known in a statement made available by the Head of Press and Public Affairs of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Odutayo Oluseyi on Thursday stated that Secretaries and Legal Advisers are safe from the directive.
The statement read: “Following the change in the leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs and MDs aimed to reposition the Aviation industry and ensure an efficient air travel experience by Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President, I am directed to inform all DIRECTORS of the following agencies that they have been relieved of their appointments forthwith and should hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates with immediate effect.
“The Directors of the affected agencies are as follows:
• Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
• Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET)
• Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA)
• Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)
• Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB)
“I am also to inform all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers that they are not affected by this directive.
“All affected DIRECTORS are to ensure strict compliance, please.”
On Wednesday, President Tinubu approved significant changes in key positions within the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
1. Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has been removed as the Managing Director of FAAN, and replaced by Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku.
2. Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo, the Managing Director of NAMA, has been replaced by Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk.
3. Engr. Akinola Olateru, the Director-General of NSIB, has been replaced by Mr. Alex Badeh Jr.
4. Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu, the Director-General of NIMET, has been replaced by Prof. Charles Anosike.
5. Capt. Alkali Mahmud Modibbo, Rector of NCAT, has been replaced by Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe as the Acting Rector.
6. Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, Director-General of NCAA, has been suspended for an EFCC investigation, and Capt. Chris Najomo assumes the role of Acting Director-General immediately.
