Fifty million naira has been demanded by the abductors of the Akwanga Local Government Council Chairman, Alhaji Safiyanu Isah Andaha, and his associate, Adamu Umar Tanko, who were kidnapped in Ningo village along Andaha-Akwanga road around 8:30 pm on Monday.
According to a family source who spoke to Leadership News on Tuesday, negotiations are underway to secure their release.
Meanwhile, Haruna Kassimu, the Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, confirmed the incident to journalists.
He said that the council boss was abducted at Ningo village along the Akwanga – Andaha road in the Akwanga Local Government Area.
