An unidentified young man, reportedly under the influence of drugs, attempted to kill his mother while they were alone on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to neighbour Ede-Chima Shari Uju, who narrated the incident on social media, the event, which occurred around 1:58 AM on Tuesday, has left the community in shock.
She revealed that the young man, who had been to three rehabilitation centres, came home and attacked his mother after she was awakened by noises and went out to check what was wrong.
She saw the son and inquired what was the problem but he attacked her and bit her lips, fingers and breast extension areas. He only left her alone when she feigned death and used that opportunity to run out and alert people as her husband was away on business.

This morning, at about 1:58 a:m. I had the wildest moment of my entire existence. I was in bed and working on a new project that I recently realized that I had an interest in, I heard screams and I wondered where it came from. I initially thought it was from the other building across from where I stay but as the scream became more soundy, I was certain it was from my building. I became very afraid. I recently lost a close friend and it has been traumatic to me, ever since then, even the minutest of things gets me panicking. I stayed in bed and hoped it wasn’t death.
About 10 minutes later, my neighbour called me and another sent me messages on WhatsApp, telling me that it was a Neighbor’s son who attempted to kill her( his mother). I came out after I heard several familiar voices and the woman was crying and seeking comfort from me as I was already familiar with her numerous encounters with her son. Previously, her son had broken the pop ceiling in their apartment and even shattered all the plates in the kitchen due to the effect of drug abuse and numerous other things that he does, like stealing things from the house and reselling them but today’s own was unlike every other time.
The woman narrated that she was in her room sleeping and heard noises and conversations in the kitchen, she went to the kitchen to find out what was happening and saw her firstborn son alone there and wondered who he was talking to. She asked him out of concern what was wrong and he held her down to the floor and violently bit her lips, fingers and breast extension. The woman faked death after numerous screams and he left her, she summoned courage and ran out shouting and crying for help drenched in blood and thank God, most of us came to her rescue. Just to cut it short, We called the police and afterwards took her to the hospital for proper treatment after our first aid session barely stopped the bleeding.
He had gone to 3 rehabilitation centres before now, his mother is just tired and anyone who witnessed this would have been in tears. She was alone in the house with him when this happened, her husband was away on a Job and her other children were being useful in the world. I will leave the menace displayed by the hospital staff for God almighty alone to judge.
