The Bende Local Government Area Chairman Mr Princewill Onyegbu has advised the newly sworn-in commissioners in Abia State to be pragmatic, theoretical and executioners of the many promises and projects thought out by the governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
He said that they should be held accountable in the many offices that they hold and not the governor. He told them that all the actions of the government should be actualized through them.
“The commissioners sworn in today are responsible for anything happening in the work assigned to them. They should not wait for the governor to tell them what to do but rather, they should work to make a difference in the state through their ministries. From today, they are held responsible and no more the governor.”
He added;” their job is also to give advice to the governor, make him proud and shield him from every lapse.”
When asked about the inauguration of the commissioners and what it means for the state, he said; “Abians can rest now knowing that the promises made to them will be fulfilled. The visions that the governor has will be brought to limelight. All the promises made by the government will be fulfilled. It’s really a great day.”
“We made promises which were anchored on politics and anytime those things are not done, it keeps the state stagnant and stuck. We are in better days, ” he concluded.
