The operatives of Special anti-robbery squad have rescued some kidnapped victims in Abia State.
Following credible information, the operatives led by their commander SP Obioguru Johnbull at Ekeakpara in Osisioma LGA, Abia State rescued the kidnapped victims on 2nd February 2020.
Newsleverage reporter learnt that the operatives engaged the kidnappers in a gunfight in their hideout and two of the hoodlums lost their lives while others escaped. Efforts are being made to arrest all other suspects.
The victims rescued include Michael Maduchukwu, 39, who was kidnapped on 31st January 2020, at Ariaria junction by St. Mary, Aba.
Second victim, Emeka Emenyeonu, 38, was kidnapped on the 1st of February, 2020 at Asa Umudim, Aba.
Third victim, Mercy Akuka, 30, kidnapped on 1st January 2020 at Umudim, Aba.
The guns of the suspects were recovered and efforts are being made to arrest the rest of the gang.
Recall that there has been a major break down in security in Abia State recently, as many hoodlums have been terrorizing the state and the police have been able to arrest many of these hoodlums.
The police also advised the public to give them information, if seen or heard, on the activities of these hoodlums so that these crimes will be curbed.
