Coronavirus: Buhari Commiserates with China, says ‘All Nigerians will be Protected’

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with China on the outbreak of Coronavirus and their hard work towards containing the disease.

The President made this statement on his official Twitter account while advising Nigerians to refrain from panic as all agencies are working towards protecting the lives of all citizens.

Buhari also advised Nigerians on misinformation and to pay attention to all directives made known by the Federal and State Governments.

He wrote, “Nigeria stands with the Government and people of China in this trying time, as they work hard to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. We wish them the very best, and have no doubt that this challenge will be fully overcome.”

“I salute China’s exemplary efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus. On our part in Nigeria the Federal Govt, through @Fmohnigeria, @NCDCgov and other agencies, is also working in close collaboration with State Govts and International partners to protect all Nigerians.”

“I enjoin all Nigerians to refrain from panic and misinformation, and continue to pay full attention to all the updates and advisories being regularly issued by the Federal and State Governments.”

Recall that the Coronavirus which started in China has spread into other countries and recently, a first case was recorded in Ivory Coast.

The government has advised Nigerians to be calm as all reliable agencies are working towards containing the virus if it spreads to the country.
