Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has inaugurated five hundred young Abians into the Abia State Crime Prevention and Management System.
The launch of CPAMS which happened on Monday at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia has created the intention of creating an electronic platform and digital backbone for the storage, management and retrieval of criminal records.
It was gathered from the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka who stated that the 500 Abians recruited were drawn from the 17 local government area through the Ministry of Homeland Security into the State Homeland Security System.
These Abians have been trained by the Nigeria Police and will be deployed across the Stats as Neighbourhood Watch Guards and Forest Guards to help secure the environment.

These newly recruited officers of our Homeland Security Unit will work with the Police in the management of CPAMS which was launched today by the Governor.
They have been trained in data management and software appreciation and will for top-flight the first batch of personnel in Abia State with top-flight software training experience.”
