In a bid to reclaim the public space dominated by hoodlums, the police have arrested three notorious suspects following the death of two citizens whose identities are still unknown.
The suspects, 19-year-old Ekene Ezeokala, 30-year-old Emeka Iwuozor and 27-year-old Chigozie Ohanaziem were hunted and arrested following the gruesome and barbaric murder of two men in Okija on the 20the of March 2021.
According to a statement released by the Spokesman to the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, on Monday, investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a deadly secret cult.
A locally-made pistol was recovered from the arrest.
Part of the statement reads;
“In another development, Police operatives, while on a routine patrol on 21st March 2021, got intelligence from the Divisional Police Officer Abagana in Njikoka LGA that unknown persons had in their possession unexploded IEDs which they were about to sell in a condemned Iron Site. The operatives quickly mobilized and went to the site and recovered the unexploded IEDs. The recovered exhibits are now in the custody of the Explosives Ordinance Department (EOD) for further analysis.”
