Two students of Greenfield University have regained freedom after eight days in captivity.
Confirming the incident to ChannelsTV through a text message, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sewuese Anene said the students were rescued unhurt.
“The kidnapped students of the University of Makurdi have been released unhurt. Investigation into the case continues please,” he said.
When asked if ransom was paid to facilitate their release, the police spokesman replied saying: “No ransom was paid please.”
The Greenfield students were kidnapped on the 20th of April, 2021, at their location. The bandits demanded N800 million while five of the students has been killed.
