OPEN LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE DR OKEZIE VICTOR IKPEAZU
His Excellency,
It is with mixed feelings that we write to you first, to express our sincere gratitude to the Geometrician for giving you sound health and wisdom to govern Abia State in spite of some challenges occasioned by nature. In that case, if repeating ourselves in the event of thanking Him for His mercies and blessings upon you is otiose, we doff our hats for Him.
His Excellency, let us say prestissimo that we are members of Asa Liberation Movement.. Asa Liberation Movement, for your enlightenment, is a Group of well meaning Asa Youths who, the hullabaloo about Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency, affects in extreme. ASA LIBERATION MOVEMENT as a Group was incubated and hatched in a month of Sundays following flurry of political activities and ululation for marginalization with regard to zoning arrangements for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency.
His Excellency, may it interest you to know that since the creation of Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency, there has been this gentleman agreement between the two Local Government Areas i.e.,Ukwa West and East (ASA AND NDOKI) vis-a-vis the position of Federal House Of Representatives. It is on record that Asa took their fair share through Late Hon Chinonyerem Macebuh from 1999 -2007.
In the preceding year, Hon Chinonyerem Macebuh indicated interest for third tenure, but Political Gladiators in Asa reminded him of the zoning arrangement between Ndoki and Asa and, in adherence to it, he discarded his third term bid and relinquished House of Representatives position to Ndoki which Rep Nkem Uzoma Abonta is ineffectively representing us since 2007 hitherto; and has stubbornly refused to relinquish power to Ukwa West Bloc as deposed in the gentleman agreement arguing that power is not given,but wrestled for. And on this note,we have accepted to wrestle power with Rep Uzoma Abonta with our First Eleven in Ukwa West political atmospherics hence the adoption of a sole candidate from IPU extraction.
His Excellency, we are tired of a man who does not keep to his words, but mesmerizes and selfishly loves greed. A man who does not respect common agreements, but slogs for tangled and claptrap mendacity. A man who is always opposed to veracity, synchronization, fairness and reasonable innuendo. A man who has subjected Ukwa especially Asa people to a cocktail of maladies of callous treatment over sixteen years engendering a palpable sense of apprehension over any developmental project whatsoever called hence the formation of Asa Liberation Movement.
Albeit,it was published on social media that Rep Uzoma Abonta has purchased his Expression of Interest/Nomination form for Abia South Senatorial District which we know is a decoy to douse the political tension in Asa yet,we care less about him and his inordinate ambition,but care more about Sir Chris Nkwonta from same Ndoki who had just declared interest to run for Ukwa East/West Federal House Of Representatives. His Excellency sir,it is on this premise we call on you as a product of Equity to wear your optical Lens (Gbaa Torch) in relation to this.
His Excellency, it is a truism that you zoned the Governorship position to Abia North and Abia Central. Now that Sir Chris Nkwonta is bragging that it was your brainchild returning him to PDP with a promise of giving him the ticket for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency even when we know that it was a promise in anonymity,therefore, as the supporters of your administration, and sequel to the fact that Abia State is on its premium for equity and justice, we implore you, most respectfully, to zone the Deputy Governorship position to Abia South and at the same time micro zone it to Ukwa making Sir Chris Nkwonta the sole candidate for PDP considering the convoluted phantasmagoria of his wealth and other concomitant variables.
For record purposes,our sister LGA, Ndoki has been favoured with many political positions from, but not limited to: Vice Chancellor Abia State University, Pro Chancellor (albeit sacked), PDP State Party Chairman, SOLE ADMINISTRATOR ASOPADEC et al. Nevertheless, we entreat you to still micro zone the Deputy Governorship position to them so that the yet – to – be disclosed promise to Sir Chris Nkwonta, which necessitated his comeback to PDP will be fulfilled in that direction.
Be that as it may, we make bold to reiterate our resolution as being stated in our already published 13-point communique to vote out any party who does not give its ticket for Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency to an Asa man and we are poised to uphold it without gulping our vomit. Signed:
