An 84-year-old man identified as Gabriel Ahuwa has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly killing his 75-year-old wife over for starving him of sex.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday in a press conference in Benin, the spokesperson of the police, Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the arrested and revealed that the octogenarian showed no remorse after the grievous crime.
Mr. Nwabuzor also disclosed that the suspect was among the 198 suspects apprehended in Edo State for various crimes like armed, kidnapping, and murder.
”The suspect is not remorseful. After killing his wife, he still claimed that his action was the only solution to her starving him of sex,” the police office said.
The suspect revealed that his wife starved him of sex for a long time.
“My wife did not listen to me. Anytime I asked her to come and sleep with me, she would decline. We have given birth to seven children,” stated Mr Ahuwa. “I reported my wife to my family and hers too, but she failed to listen to them and continued with her old ways.”
Mr. Ahuwa added, “Meanwhile, I heard that she had been sleeping with some pastors.”
Mr Ahuwa, however, said he regretted his action.
