Six security operatives consisting of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Civil Defence Corps, and an Inspector of Police have been arrested for intimidation, threat, extortion, and robbing of unsuspecting members of the public in Imo State.
This was made known by the Spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye on Wednesday morning names them to including; NA Kelechi Chijoke, ‘m’ 30yrs (NDLEA), NA David Nwaji ‘m’ NDLEA, CA III Nwaka Ikechukwu NDLEA, DSC Obijiaku Israel 28yrs Civil Defence, ASC II Omodi Timothy ‘m’ 33yrs Civil Defense and Inspector Odidika Augustine ‘m’ 37 yrs an Inspector of Police.
The statement revealed that the unscrupulous team which hides under the umbrella of Operation Search Flush in the State is currently in detention and is undergoing an investigation.
The team was accused of forcing the public to make transfers to the tune of thousands of Naira, seizing and checking their phones despite several directives by the Nigeria Police Force on the issue, bringing untold hardships to them and tarnishing the reputation of the NPF.
