Legalize BVAS, Electronic Transmission of Election Results – Labour Party Urges Tinubu
The youths made a demand on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government to send an Executive Bill to the National Assembly for the legalising of BVAS and Electronic Transmission of election results in subsequent elections in Nigeria.
The Labour Party has urged President Bola Tinubu to send an executive bill to the National Assembly to legalize the use of BVAS and Electronic Transmission of election results in subsequent elections in Nigeria.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the National Youth Conference and Annual Meeting and presented by the National Youth Leader, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, on Wednesday,y, 20th November 2024.
Entitled; ‘COMMUNIQUE PRESENTED BY PRINCE KENNEDY AHANOTU, THE NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER, AFTER THE 2024 LABOUR PARTY NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE AND ANNUAL MEETING’ reads;
The annual meeting had in attendance all the State Youth Leaders, Zonal Youth Leaders, and a few national delegates. In attendance, also, were the National Working Committee (NWC) members of the Labour Party ably led by Barr Julius Abure, the National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Farouk, National Secretary, and a host of others
The youth wing after deliberations resolved as follows:
1. The Youth Wing of Labour Party took a look at the recent face off in the party, and the court interventions adjudging the party’s National Convention held in March 2024 valid. It resolved to lead state-by-stateate reconciliatory engagements of the party members and leaders.

2. The youths made a demand on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government to send an Executive Bill to the National Assembly for the legalising of BVAS and Electronic Transmission of election results in subsequent elections in Nigeria.
3. The youths demand that Mr. President, as a matter of urgency, should reverse some policies that are practically having advereffectsect on the well-being of Nigerian you,ths such as fuel pupricesice, electricitariffsiff, incessant disruption in academic activities in the universities, amongst others.
4. The youths also reminded the President to match words with action by stating the modalities and action plans for the proposed National Youth Conference and urging the President to be ready to implement every decision arising from the conference.
5. The youths demand the National Assembly to legislate on the retirement limit for all public service positions including the Presidents, Governors and other elected officers at 70 years. This will free a lot of positions for the younger generations to take up important national responsibilities.
6. The youths applauded the presence and contributions of several National Assembly members at the annual conference and urged for more collaborative efforts towards unifying the party.
7. The youths also looked at the performances of the National Chairman Barr Julius Abure and his National Working Committee members and passed a Vote of Confidence on them. It also passed a Vote of Confidence on the National Youth Leader, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu.
