Members of PDP Isuamawu Ward 4 have decided to resolve their lingering leadership crisis by taking decisive action to restore unity and progress with the suspension of some stakeholders behind the crisis.
On 30th March, 2025, the 7-man disciplinary committee headed by Elder Goddy Nnorom found it strange that a man was nominated as a women leader and an elderly lady as Youth leader. The committee recommended the suspension of those involved in fuelling the crisis.
Citing a recent Supreme Court ruling affirming that party membership is an internal affair of a political party, Isuamawu Ward 4 PDP members made a firm decision to resolve the crisis that has angered women and the youth of the ward.
The disciplinary committee, in line with the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended), meticulously deliberated on the numerous infractions committed by the aforementioned stakeholders, which included donating ward 4 LG ex-officio slot to Mr. Nnonike Onuoha from Esere ward 2.

The following was adopted:
- Full acceptance of the recommendations of the 7-man disciplinary committee led by Elder Goddy Nnorom.
- Acknowledgement to redress the violation of zoning agreement between the two communities of Umuobiala and Eluala, that make up Isuamawu Ward 4.
- Acceptance to address the violation of the natural sequence by appointing a man as the women leader and an elderly woman as the youth leader, despite the availability of eligible women and youth to fill these positions.
- Acknowledgment that those responsible for sowing division and instability in the ward have since defected to the Labour Party but continue to fuel the crisis from outside.
- Recognition that the so named infractions violated key sections of the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended), including sections 58(1)-(a)(b)(d)(e)(g)(i).
- Adoption of the penalty as outlined in Section 59(1)(f) of the 2017 PDP Constitution (as amended) in response to the violations.
- Formation of a 3-man committee tasked with finding replacements in accordance with the traditional zoning formula between the two communities, Umuobiala and Eluala. To also reclaim the LG ex-officio position from Mr. Nnonike Onuoha.
- Reaffirmation that this resolution is made in good faith with the goal of revitalising PDP in Isuamawu Ward 4.
- A call to action to restore unity, integrity, and effective leadership in the ward, with a copy of the resolution to be forwarded to the PDP LGA Chairman for further action.
