Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has stated that many states in Nigeria has a municipal waste problem and so open for investment from all over the world.
He said this while being interviewed by an Egyptian TV at UK-Africa summit 2020 held in London.
“Nigeria is open for investment like renewable energy, conversion of waste to energy as we have cities with the municipal waste problem.”
He also disclosed that all areas of Agriculture should be developed to provide the basic needs of the people.
“We also need up grid energy to power value addition in agriculture and convert cassava to starch, mill rice, convert oil palm fruit to palm oil so we want to find up grid energy to power these investments but we are happy to see an investor here who is coming with equipment which will be able to make use of rice husk to provide energy for the milling of rice for the community.”
“That same energy will also make use of cassava peelings and turn into energy so I’m trying to kill two birds with one stone.
First, provide sustainable energy as well as drive agro-processing at the community level.”
Recall that the Governor has shown genuine interest in turning the State into an agricultural hub and has stated that Abia State is fertile and blessed in growing agricultural products.
He promised that his government will support all agricultural development especially in farming cassava, rice and palm oil.
