The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has suspended the operation of ExecuJet indefinitely for providing false information to convey Naira Marley to Abuja for a concert.
This was made known at the Presidential Taskforce Committee during a briefing on Tuesday in Abuja stating that the flight was approved for a judge, Hon. Justice Adefope Okoji for a to and fro transport to Abuja and back to Lagos.
As a result of the false information given, the services have been suspended and pilots will be sanctioned and operators heavily fined.
The President’s aide, “The Ministry of Aviation has suspended operations of the ExecuJet indefinitely for providing false information to convey Naira Marley to Abuja for a concert. The flight was initially approved to convey a service Justice from Lagos to Abuja, Aviation Minister @hadisirika has said.”
“The operation is a clear violation of our approvals which we take seriously, it seems this is becoming a norm, it’s the second time. Execujet services are hereby suspended indefinitely, we’ll also find them maximally according to the law. The Captain of the flight will also be sanctioned for giving wrong information to the control tower. It seems also the people are not tired of trying our resolve. Governance is a serious matter”
Recall that NairaMarley was blasted for flying to Abuja and hosting a concert in Jabi Lake Mall which was against the COVID-19 directives on ‘no public gathering or party’ to curb the spread of the virus in the country.
Jabi lake mall was subsequently closed down after the concert by the Federal Government.
