Coalition Igbo Groups will hold a Candlelight vigil with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide at Umuahia Township Sunday 2nd August 2020 in Honour of Major General JTU Aguiyi Ironsi, at the ancestral Home of Late Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi Ironsi, Who was the only Igbo as Military Head of State.
In a Joint Statement signed by the Coalition of Igbo Groups, namely World Igbo Youth Congress, Southeast Women Professionals and Igbo Students Union, described Late General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi Ironsi as one of the Finest Military Personnel that was brutally Murdered in Lalopon, Oyo State exactly 54 Years ago.
Mazi Alex Okemiri (President, World Igbo Youth Congress), Dr Helen Ogbonnaya ( President Southeast Women Professionals)and Comrade Chidi Ugwujo ( President Igbo Students Union) insist that Southeast Governors Forum should Pressurize President Muhammadu Buhari to Officially rename 82 Division Enugu after late Major General JTU Aguiyi Ironsi.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide had described the last Igbo Head of State as a Patriot and Urge General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma to apologise to Igbo Nation and advocate for 2023 Igbo Presidency Project, Young Officer T.y.danjuma, and others of 4th battalion in Mokola, Ibadan Oyo State, Were involved in a Counter Coup of 29th July 1966, which Brutally murdered the Only Igbo Head of State, Just 6months in Power, at 81 Years, General Danjuma can rewrite history by Tendering Unreserved apologies to Ndigbo and openly Support 2023 Igbo Presidency project.
