Police Arrest 72-year-old Man, Recover Ammunition

Monday Maurice Okoko, a 72-year-old man, was arrested by Akwa Ibom State Police Command following the successful raid of a criminal armoury.

According to DSP Timfon John on Saturday, the search of the suspect’s residence on the 26th of April 2025 and premises led to the recovery of firearms in Ikot Ekpene.

The ammunition includes One locally revolver pistol, a cut-to-size locally made pistol, a single-barrel locally fabricated gun, a LAR locally fabricated gun, five Dane guns, gun powder and borries ammunition.
A preliminary investigation into the matter is currently ongoing to arrest members of the gang that are believed to be using the arms to terrorize the state.
