29-year-old driver Ahmed Mohammed has been arrested by operatives of the Bauchi Intelligent Department, SID attached to the Bauchi State Police Command on the 24th of February, 2024.
The suspect, a resident of Polo High Court, Borno State was employed as a driver by a company owned by his secondary school classmate called Damuli Investment Company Ltd., in Maiduguri, Borno State when he fled with the company’s car.
According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Anipr, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), on Tuesday, the suspect was arrested at Bayan Gari Area of Bauchi state alongside the stolen vehicle (Toyota Highlander) white with registration number ABC-65PK.
“It was further uncovered that the accused Ahmed Mohammed fled with the car to Bauchi with with intent to sell it out at the sum of two million Naira (N2.000.000) and use the money to pay his house rent and to welcome his estranged wife back home.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, PSC, has directed that further Investigation be extended to Borno State to explore more motives and unravel every fact behind his action.
