Aro Day 2024: Eze Aro Invites Arochukwu Indigenes, Friends of the Ancient Kingdom

* Assures them of security, great time

Eze Aro, His Eminence Dr Eberechukwu Oji, has extended invitations from the Arochukwu Royal Palace to friends of the Arochukwu Kingdom to attend the events lined up for this year’s Aro Day celebration.

He also urged all Arochukwu citizens, as well as their kith and kin in the Aro Diaspora communities, to return home for the celebration, assuring them of worthwhile experience in an atmosphere of peace and hospitality.

The Director of Media Affairs for Eze Aro Palace, Mazi Patrick Asonye, announced in a statement that the Aro Day 2024 celebrations, under the chairmanship of Engr. Goddy Ijeomah will span five days, starting from December 24 with the Festival of 9 Lessons and Carols and peaking on December 26 when, under the auspices of Aro Kingdom Awards, 83 deserving personalities who have served the community and humanity will be honoured.

This year’s ceremony is held under the theme: Honour for Distinguished Champions of Aro Renaissance, Peace and Community Development.
It is being organized by Nzuko Arochukwu Worldwide, in collaboration with the Eze Aro Royal Palace, and powered by the Central Planning Committee (CPC) chaired by Mazi Adindu Elekwa, with Mazi Zulu Ofoelue as secretary and Dr Azubike Okoro heading the media sub-committee.

His Eminence, Eze Eberechukwu Oji will superintend the ceremonies, his first since ascending the throne of his forebears, after which he will host delegations from the 19 villages on a “homage visit” to their king in the evening of the same day.

“Light up Aro”, the statement continued, is scheduled for December 27, during which Eze Aro will launch a special project that seeks to raise funds to finance the installation of solar street lights in all the nooks and crannies of the kingdom.
Later at night, there will be a live theatre performance on the legacies of His Royal Majesty Eze Kanu Oji titled “Echoes from the Drum”.

An interdenominational Open-Air Crusade with Pastor John Anosike will be held on Saturday, December 28, alongside other renowned preachers of the Gospel.

The ceremonies will be rounded off on Monday, December 30, with the unveiling of the skills acquisition centre at Ugwuavor Village built by Nzuko Aro Women’s Wing (UK branch).
Eze Eberechukwu Oji, the statement added, will be delighted to have friends of the kingdom join the indigenes to celebrate this year’s Aro Day in thanksgiving to God while committing to His abiding faithfulness in the coming year.

The monarch also used the opportunity to wish those coming for the Aro Day events journey mercies to and fro Arochukwu.
Dignitaries expected to attend the events, and at the instance of Eze Aro and the Royal Palace, are diplomats, corporate chief executives, technocrats, traditional rulers, academics, political chieftains, and professionals from diverse callings amongst others.
