The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Abia State Chapter (SNB) has elected her pioneer Officers for a two-year tenure with Comrade Chinezerem Agbakuru of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State emerging as the State Chairman.
Other elected Officers include Ifeoma Ndu-Okorie – Vice Chairman; Emmanuel Nwazue – Secretary; Jennifer Bassey – Assistant Secretary; Amaka Unamba – Financial Secretary; Christiana Ifeanyi-Eleweke – Treasurer; and Orji Favour – Public Relations Officer.
Speaking while inaugurating the newly elected Officers of the Society, the State Coordinator of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Sir Chimdi Oluoha, congratulated Comrade Chinezerem Agbakuru and her team for offering themselves to serve the Society.
Sir Oluoha, who is also a retired Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service, further challenged them to make sure that the affairs of the Society are carried on effectively and emphasized the need for training and retraining of broadcasters for effective performance.


In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Society’s Electoral Committee, Ulumma Chukwunyere, the Station Manager of Flo FM Umuahia, Mr Sampson Eze and a retired Director of the Television Services Department of the BCA, Mr Chikezie Onyeabor, charged the newly elected Officers to work with other progressive-minded people in the Society to move the Society forward while urging members to give them the needed support.
In her acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Abia State Chapter, Comrade Chinezerem Agbakuru appreciated the members of the Society for finding them worthy to serve assuring that her team will roll out programs to achieve their aims, especially in the area of giving visibility to the Society and ensuring membership drive.
