The chairperson of the Northern States’ Christian Women, Leah Solomon, pleads with Muhammadu Buhari to help save Nigerian women and children from killers ravaging the country’s northern states during a visit by members of the Christian Association of Nigeria to the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.
The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the 19 northern states, during their talks with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, demanded a review of the country’s security apparatus with a view to ending the killings.
Herdsmen allegedly massacred about 200 people in Plateau state, while other states in the north have also witnessed bloody clashes involving herders and farmers.
They also urged Buhari to facilitate the release of Leah Sharibu, the Christian girl abducted by Boko Haram alongside other students from a school in Dapchi, Borno State.
Leah is still in captivity for refusing to denounce her faith. The others, all Muslims, have since regained their freedom.
