The Imo state Commissioner of Works, Engr. Ben Ekwueme has made it clear that the present government in the state led by Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will start from the scratch in its rebuild Imo agenda.
Engr Ekwueme who made this disclosure in his office made it clear that the past administration did not leave behind even a single solid foundation on which the present government could build on.
The commissioner disclosed that everything the post-administration built was substandard and has failed the simplest of the test. He informed that they will be removed while designing and construction will be started afresh.
Noting that it takes the double cost to rebuild a wrongly built structure and also the paucity of funds, coupled with the huge debt burden the immediate past administration plunged the state into, he said the new administration will leverage on the goodwill, exposure and contact of Governor Emeka Ihedioha to get the work done.
The renowned and certified engineer urged Imo people to be patient while the government put modalities in place to remedy the situation and said the governor has a burning passion for the development of the state.
He said though there were many things to complain about the mess caused by the past administration, the government of Emeka Ihedioha will not continue to cry over spilt milk, it will do all it takes to remedy and rebuild the state.
