Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Three Victims
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt on the night of May 3, rescuing three victims and recovering a stolen vehicle at Okacha junction, Neni.
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt on the night of May 3, rescuing three victims and recovering a stolen vehicle at Okacha junction, Neni.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the swift response from officers attached to the Neni Divisional Headquarters around 8:45 p.m. led to the safe rescue of the victims, which included a husband and wife. One of the victims’ vehicles was also recovered at the scene.

A combined team of security agencies, including the Military, Civil Defence, and local Vigilante groups, has since launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects. The hoodlums escaped in a black Lexus 350 SUV with registration number ABJ 557 LD, reportedly stolen from one of the rescued victims.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, praised the prompt action of the operatives and urged Anambra residents to remain vigilant and cooperative with law enforcement efforts to maintain peace and security in the state.
Investigation is ongoing as the security forces intensify efforts to track and apprehend the suspects.
