Couple, Family, Others Dies From Lagos’s Pipeline Explosion

Following the pipeline explosion that left Abule-Ado in Lagos State in tears, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says 15 corpses, including a family of four, were recovered from the scene.

This was made known by the acting coordinator of NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, in Lagos who said that a couple and their two sons who were on their way to church died from the explosion.

At least 60 students of Bethlehem Girls College located within the area who sustained various degrees of injuries were taken to the Nigerian Navy Hospital in Satellite town but a Rev. Sis Henrietta Alokha who rescued the children was not fortunate as she died after rescuing the children.

Also, a young couple who are said to be the only son and daughter of their parents also died from the explosion.

Over 50 buildings were damaged in the explosion including the Bethlehem Girls College and a popular hotel in the axis.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has stated that the explosion was caused by gas.

As he explained, the explosion happened after a truck hit some gas cylinders stacked in a gas processing plant located near the corporation’s system.
